Johnston Burkhardt is a New Orleans based artist who paints in his home studio in Mid-City. He is a multi-disciplinary creative who's main mediums are acrylic, oil, pastel, pencil, plaster, embroidery, collage on canvas, paper, and gesso board. He is a skilled abstract artist though his other common subjects include oysters and nudes. Johnston loves to create juxtaposition in his work by framing his modern art in vintage and antique frames. It ties into his larger affinity for mixing modern art with classic pieces in home design.
